The DC Public Library
Ease of use is the goal of this literacy website. Working with an internet consultant and a plain-language writer, we designed a simple site that eliminates frustrating factors that could encourage viewers to click off before finding literacy information they need. This site serves adults with literacy problems, with learning disabilities, and in ESL programs as well as professionals teaching literacy skills.
